About
I was born in Italy in 1976 and have lived in Berlin since 2011. I studied at ISFCI in Rome, where I initially approached photography as a profession. It was there that I quickly discovered my aptitude for social and reportage photography, which led me to complete a Master’s in Photojournalism at the same institute.
People have always been at the center of my photography—whether displaced by conflict, affected by poverty, or captured in moments of transformation. I’ve long focused on migration, working on long-term projects in Italy, Greece, and Eastern Europe, with a strong interest in asylum seekers and marginalized communities.
After moving to Berlin in 2011, I set photography aside for several years. In 2019, I attended a professional training course in digital and media photography, which allowed me to reconnect with the medium—technically and personally—and to resume my work with renewed focus.
In recent years, my photography has taken me to Armenia and Georgia, where I documented the aftermath of the exodus from Nagorno-Karabakh (November–December 2023) and the protests in Tbilisi (December 2023). In April 2025, I traveled to eastern Ukraine for Ukraine on Tiptoe, a short but intimate series exploring everyday life in war-affected areas.
I continue to work on The Winter Journey, a long-term series begun in 2019 inside a men’s shelter in Berlin. More broadly, my work is drawn to situations in which human beings live in states of fragility and uncertainty.
My approach to photography is humanistic and empathetic, with a strong focus on artistic form and emotional clarity.
